Wren, Birds on Grey series

£80.00

This Wren, printed on Giclée paper, is part of my Birds on Grey Series.
I really got hands on with this one, if you look closely you can see my thumb prints - used to add texture to the original painting.
The wren is a small but popular garden bird that once had pride of place on Britain’s equally diminutive farthing, which was the smallest denomination British coin at the time. Often described as the smallest bird in the UK, the wren is actually larger in overall size than both the firecrest and the little goldcrest. However, the wren does stand the shortest of three.
Recognisable by its surprisingly loud song and that little tail pointing skyward, you’ll often see wrens scuttling mouse-like among the undergrowth in search of food.
