Jay, part of the ‘Smudge Birds’ collection.
This painting depicts the jay, a bright bird in both presentation and character.

I’ve produced this in mixed media, charcoal, graphite, pastel and paint on 300gsm fine art paper.
The style is also a mix-up. I use a free hand to produce a vibrant and active result while attempting to portray the birds colour and character as accurately as possible.
